With Christmas comes the release of all kinds of new products, not the least of which being video games. Why? People are much more likely to buy them to use as gifts for the gamer in their life. With new games like “Watch Dogs 2” and “Gears of War 4” on the market, it would be no surprise if they ended up in every stocking and under every tree. As Christmas approaches, here are a few of the most anticipated titles.

First comes a new installment in the “Dead Rising 4” series, expected to be released in December. It follows photojournalist Frank West, the character from the first game, as he fends off hordes of zombies in the town of Willamette, Colorado. This installment gets rid of the timer system which has been a mainstay of the series since its inception, but there’s no shortage of the survival-horror mayhem that fans enjoy.

Another early-December release that is sure to sell out is “The Walking Dead Season 3: A New Frontier.” Based on the comic by Robert Kirkman, Telltale Games has given us a series filled with intense action, heartfelt drama, and some of the hardest decisions you’ll ever have to make. In the third installment, the player returns as Clementine, now grown up. Nobody knows what the plot will be other than “zombies,” but Telltale Games always delivers a story unlike any other.
Finally, genDESIGN (creator of the story-driven game “Shadow of the Colossus”) is releasing another dramatic tale, “The Last Guardian,” which has been in the works since 2007. It follows some of the same game-play concepts but features a totally different storyline. This game follows an anonymous boy who wakes up in a castle to find he’s been kidnapped. He finds a large griffin-like creature named Trico, and they must work together to escape.

These are just some of the most anticipated titles hitting the shelves and, ultimately, your stockings this holiday season.
