I felt like I was
Missing something
After you dropped me off
Last night

Perhaps,
I left something
In the passenger seat

When I was blinded through
The windshield by
lights

There’s just something about
Beautiful things

They have a tendency to
Blind you

Maybe that’s why
I didn’t see you coming

And maybe that’s why
October crept over us
Before we could welcome
Autumn

And left before we could
Take in the beauty of its
Changing leaves

Maybe it was the
The orange
Of the range
The beauty of
change

I think that’s why
I felt like
Something was missing

That night
We watched the world
Burn

I was blinded
By the beauty
Of flames

And your smile
I think it might have been
My heart
That I left
in your passenger seat

For you and the sun
To consume
Together
